Mark, Marchand, Marachand, Marcand, Maracand, Marsand, Marasand, Marshand, Marashand, Markand, Marakand. Maarg

Western Last Names :
Maracand, Marsand, Marasand, Marshand, Marashand,

Indian Sur Names:
Markand,
Marakand

The meaning and the origin of this world is a tough one. But the words demonstrate important well known rules:

mR -> mar -> maar - Gradations of the sounds from Root -> Guna -> Vriddhi

k (Guttaral) -> c (English transliterion) -> sh (Palatal "sh" - English "c" also being pronounced as "k") -> "ch" (confusion of overloaded sounds in "c" and aspiration tendency of some speakers) -> "kh" - Guttaral Aspirated "k" ) and finally "sh -> "s" (loosing of aspiration and becoming Dental "s").

So what does it mean? Markand was a name of the Spiritual Percent of the Daanavas (who are also in the mythology of European nations). And if one takes "and" as the meaning of "Egg" it means "egg or lineage of something "mark", which means monkey, ape, and sometimes the word goes to mean Dolphins, Plants, etc. The word "makar" means crocodile, which is one of the Zodiac signs, and in English it is called Capricorn. So does it mean one who is born in the Zodiac sign of the Crocodile?

Interestingly, India has a festival called Makar-Sankranti - which is Makar + Sama + KRaant - i or ii (with R as Cerebral one). It is very ancient festival celebrated when the Sun completes its south-ward bound journey, from Tropic of Cancer to Tropic of Capricorn, and starts its north-ward bound journey. This event is called Sun's Summer Solstice or Uttaraanya, which has shifted from the month of Jan to month of June - but the Hindus still keep celebrating in Jan/Feb Time frame.

So this gives us the clue. " Sama-k.." becomes "Sank" because Labial Nasal sound "m" is joining Guttural "k" and so it has to become Guttural Nasal, which is "N" in "Anger" sound.

So how is the word Makar formed? "Arc" means Sun, and also English Arc (see my posting on Artic, Arc And Antartica), so if one takes "Ma + Arc" it becomes that is "Not + Sun", or "Not + Arc", or I would say the "Goal" or "Mark" of the Sun's journey - which is the Tropic of Capricorn! Wow we are getting close now. So the other side of this line is always without Sun! So "Ma -Arc" also means that has no Sun! Now this happens to coincide with the Zodiac of Capricorn which to India's the Zodiac Constellation looked like a Crocodile and hence the animal also started getting called Crocodile.

Now interestingly why Dolphin and Monkey? We all know Zodiacs shift with Precession and so does the Solstice's. See my posting on Stone Circles. So well this is a research idea of another article!

If we take "and" as "ant", meaning of end, than it makes more sense.

So the original Sanskrit Last name would have been "Makara-ant" and his children being called "Makara-ant-and" and in the processing this getting corrupted.

So now we also say how the world English "Mark" is related!

Now we can also say how the word "Maarg" in Sanskrit has come - the path.

We satisfy the 2 rules we use in this game: (1) Use well known rules of Sanskrit and Linguistics and (2) Arrive at the same, related and even opposite meaning of the word (because of whose point of view - like your gain is my loss).

The World is in the Word - Meyer, Meir, Meira, Meijer, Meiro, Mero, Mehra, Maira,

Bible says in the beginning there was nothing in the World but only the Word. The same is said in the Indian Genesis where Brahma thought of the World as a Word in his mind and said the word! It was Aum - which is Bible's Amen, both of which means "So be it", "Let it be", "May Your Wish Be Fulfilled", "Go Ahead", and so on. This is mentioned in the Chandogya Upanishad.

Understanding the genesis of words is not that hard if one studies grammar of an ancient language, specially Sanskrit, and would realize that so many words go back to roots and well known rules, allowed with the transition rules imposed by exoteric - non esoteric - nature of common folks in due course of time and space movements - see how the pure Hindi of UP got corrupted by the Western Bombay culture, and how the British English is so different from the American English. I say no one speaks English like the British, and no one speaks Hindi like the UP folks from the central belt!

Every new kid on the block thinks he is the greatest, the most smartest and the most glorified one with many achievements. He or she tends to forget behind his or her success there are eons of efforts gone on for him or her to be there. There is a saying that a 'New Cock Crows More'.

200 to 300 years back, Jesuit Missionary Priests and the Western Historians, on payroll of the Colonial Powers from the West, mainly England, France, Spain and Portugal, were pushing this as fact that the world was just 5000 years old since the Genesis said so in the Bible. But now history is talking about advance Navigation among civilization before the last Ice Age! I shall talk about it sometime.

When Northern, Eastern, Central and Western Europeans were living in the forests, China, India, Persia, Babylonia, Egypt, Palestine, Troy, Greece, Crete, and Italy were very advanced civilizations to various degrees. So it is not surprising, that a new rising nation of nations, advancing science, philosophy, architecture, commerce, trade, education, administration, arts, music and culture, would think that all that they have is their effort. In the daily grind of the struggle, many few have time to wonder about how they have come to the present world stage.

And there has been human migration going on for eons. In Apocalypse, he mentions Jews were the people who were driven out of India, before they reach Babylonia, to venture out as Nomads, and then only to be captured and enslaved by Egyptians, then by Babylonians, and finally by the Romans. In this pursuit, they had waves of migrations till the recent times. First it was outwards and since the 1948 is has been mainly inwards. The people who were driven out were "Palis" or worshipers like "Jains" and "Buddhists", and they were driven out by the Brahmins. The ancient name of Palestine was Palistan. One of the Brahmins Sacred Ceremony is also there among Jews. Did you know that most of the rulers of Babylonia, Syria and Assyria were all Pals! Please see my posting on Hammurabi at http://hammu-rabi.blogspot.com.

Think this is all far fetched? Now see the last names of Indian, Jew and Western origins.

Meyer - last name of Jews in the West

Meir - German Jews Names

Meira - Portugal Last Name

Meijer - Spanish Last Name as "j" is either "h" or "y".

Meiro - Christian Last Name

Mero - Another last Name.

Mehra - Indian Last Name

Maira - Indian Last Name

Still far fetched? Go and read the names of Indians who have converted to Christians! You will see Hindu names like "swamy", "naryan", and so on. In fact there was a famous Writer "Srivastava" - my last name - who was Pakistani and a Muslim. I was surprised and shocked. Then I recalled that my ancestors were the ministers in Royal courts (like Birbal) and taken to the Mogul ways of living (we were called half Muslims). See how many Punjabi Hindu names would be found among Pakistanis.

People can change their religions but they can not change themselves overnight! And not see the names of First Generation kids of immigrants and how their names get modified by the influence of the adopted country of their parents.

Interestingly, Meru's next vowel grade sound is "Mairu", and there are rules to make a Noun for a Place of Thing to be a Proper Noun, for the persons associated with the Place or the Thing.

One of the common rules is to add "a". So it becomes "Mairu" + "A" and that becomes "Mairva", and the optional rule is "v" can be dropped and it can become "Maira"

So most likely Mairas were the people who were connected with this Mt. Meru legend, and they became also known as Mehras.

Now go and read the posting on Mt. Meru and Sumeria at http://sanskrit-words.blogspot.com/2008/02/sumerian-and-mt-meru.html. Did you notice that one of the names was Mero!

If you think this is all far fetched, then do the simple compilations of all syllables, and for the words related here in terms of syllables, see the total individual probabilities, and now bring it people from different sections of regions from where the word has come recently, and make them say the words from the other regions - which I have said are basically the same. You will get your answer.

Still you think this is madness. Please wait, read all the postings in different blogs of mine, and over time you would see their is a pattern of "Finger Prints" left behind. Really, do not go by the color of the skin or appearance, go by the DNA - as modern Science has found it out that were are all related! If you can not believe it, go and find some of the Sindhis and Panjabis, whose parents were in Sindh and Punjab, with typical Fair and European Aryan looks, and migrated to India, spreading out in different parts of the country. Some of their children now look very dark and un-european. Silly, it is the Sun, the Air, the Water, the Food and the Environment that has shaped them! I have seen many such examples.

Sumerian and Mt Meru

Every culture has a Mt. Meru or Mt. Olympus equivalent. In the Hindu mythology, Mt. Meru is the abode of Gods, and Mt. Kailash is also the equivalent place of abode for Lord Shiva, whos is the most ancient known God found in India, Europe and Greece (please see my postings on OmPhallos and Shiva).

Sumerian is basically Sumer + ian, where "ian" is the suffix for making an adjective in English. Sumer is basically Sumeru. There is a rule in Sanskrit where when the vowel "u" meets vowel "i", it will become "v + i" and optionally "v" would get dropped. So SuMer is Su + Meru, which means Good or Holy Meru.

The speaker commits the same mistake as most of the Western Scholars do, that they stop their pursuit till Greece, Egypt, and perhaps go till Babylonia and Sumeria. Please see my article on Hammu-rabi, the famous King of Babylonia (also notice the mistake done in identifying the script). To all fairness, the speaker does mentions India's antiquity going up to 10,000 BC and the mention of Vimana Technology. Then the modern Archaeologists only go by material proofs and not literary proofs, specially for the Oriental countries like the China's and India's (world's two most ancient civilizations) but when it comes to things like Atlantis, they make exceptions! Like Tamils have a myth of Lemuria which was lost to the great floods, and now it is being shown that the such a land was there in the Indian Ocean.

The Seven Days of Creation and Great Flood Story, besides the Ten Commandments, found in the Genesis and Sumerian culture is also there in the Hindu Mythology, and if one follows this subject in details (see my references to Anacalypsis), it is acknowledged by some experts that the whole spiritual knowledge of Gnostic, Christians, Babylonians derives from Persia, which derives from India, which at one time were one till they had their first philosophical dispute between 'Only Monotheism' vs. 'Polytheism with Icon Worship But Qualified with Absolute Monotheism'. See William King in "Archive.org" or "Google Books" and also the posting Similarity between Christ and Krishna.

The speaker does not mention that the Great Pyramids of Americas and Egypt, and along with the Great Temple of Angkor Wat, had mimicked the positions of the stars in the cosmos somewhere in antiquity before the Great Floods, and the dating confirmed with the astrological positions at the particular period, as well as the cosmos were divided among these three civilizations for representation - as if they had an joint understanding and agreement - to undertake the Global project of reflecting the Universal Microcosm in the Earthly Microcosm. (Source NOVA).

The black cuneiform tablets look like "Shiv Lingam" - and not go and read on "Om Phallos".
Also see my postings on Stonehenge, and the number 4320000 being common to Sumerian/Babylonians, Indians, Greece and Nordic Countries. Another article is on Antlantis Antarctica Paataala

The other mistake the speaker does is mention of depicting the Planet "X" as a "Cross", which actually came from a Solar Eclipse seen by Solar Worshipers where the glare looked like the wings, and it was thought that the Sun God was kidnapped by a Bird!

Then there is a mention of the "Tree of Life" which is "Shivlingam", and see my postings on Aum-Sign-In-America and Romania-And-Armenia.html

English Camilla, Catherine, Kathrine, Katrin, Katerini, Katrina - Sanskrit Kamala, Katrinii

After my last posting on "Cacey", "Casey", "Cayce" and "Kashi", I asked a colleague of mine if he had seen the posting - since I felt I owed to his name, and a mispronunciation by an Indian Manager, which sounded like "Cace", I immediately thought about the previous posting.

To let you know, the colleague said and felt the same thing as his experience of being called by all these names by the westerners!

This is not surprising, as the Human Civilization is very ancient and India is one of the most ancient countries. It is all established that Sanskrit is one of the most ancient and root languages of Indo European Languages - despite all the colonial politics. It is also established that humans passed into Europe from North Western Indian Peninsula around 40,000 BC and that the Celtic Druids are related to Brahmins - as per many scholars for past 300 years. Germans have always prided themselves to be called Aryans and they have always in fonding cultural memory have mentioned about their ancient mother land that they left behind - so I have read and recall.
What does Lufthansa mean? It literally means in Sanskrit Airlifted Swan! Now go and see the carrier's logo!!

Kamala - A girls name - feminine for Kamal or Lotus. Camilla is the equivalent. "C" is "K" in many transliterations. There are rules where vowels, and specially "l" can be doubled.

Katrinii - KatR as verb root means one that cuts, slackens or removes away. The present participle, for noun, adjective or verbal substitute, would become "katrin" as "R" becomes "ir" in one of the sounds. Now to make a feminine one would add "aa" or "ii". So you get Katrinii or Katrinaa. The westernized names are Katrina, Katerini, Katrin Katrina, Katherine, and Catherine. "K" and "C" get interchanged and "t" can become "th" in western pronunciation. "a" can become "e" and "e" can become "i". If you do not trust me, I would recommend to study some classical languages, like Sanskrit Grammar. Even today, in the North, specially among pure Hindi Speaking People, a piercing eyes of a girl that cuts into your heart or takes away your heart is called "Katrini Aankhe".

Casey, Cacey, Cayce, Cacy, Veronica, Nanny- And Sanskrit Kashi, Vaarnika, Naani

Do not go by the spellings but the sounds of the syllables and ask yourself the probability of those sounds happening in a cluster-sequence. I have a posting that explains the odds.

Now apply the syllables sounds with well known syllables sounds of Sanskrit and apply the rules of the language and see if you come to a meaning that is close to the word. But in case of names, we have no such clue for western names - except for some Greek names, as I have been told.

"c", "k" are interchangeable in English Transliteration.

"sh", "s", "ch", "c" are like wise are interchangeable

"y", "e" and "i" are like wise interchangeable.

So Casey, Cacey, Cayse, and Cacy are basically the same sounds. So in Sanskrit one would write Sanskrit Kashi but a westerner would pronounce the word as Casey.

Over the time of many generations the words would get corrupted that to an untrained user of words from two related languages, the sounds would be different and if same or close, it would be considered just co-incidental.

But now apply the probabilities and what is evident in the Linguistics, Genetics and other fields, it is quite obvious that their is a reason why the finger prints of the ancient words and sounds carried forward by the early settlers from the Indian continent have still survived but have got convoluted over time.

Veronica - is Vaarnic - Which is adjective and it has to do with class, appearance, and form. In Greek Veronica means the same.

Nanny - Naani - Anthropology confirms that the grand-mothers have played a crucial role in the upkeep and upbringing of grand-children. Child is brought up and usually close to mother, and mothers are usually close to their mothers, and spend more times with them – at least during the crucial phase of pre and post natal. Now commercialize this service rendered by the maternal grandmother and you get a modern "Nanny" service!

Isometeric and Anisometric

Please see the posting on Isotropic and Anisotropic. So we know how the sound "iso" (with palatal "s") comes and the sound "metric" comes from Sanskrit "matR", "matara" and "matric" - meaning measurable.

So it means something where "Desired" + "Measurable" attribute. And it also means "God" + "Measurable" attribute. We all know "God" is "Omnipresent", "present in all directions", or "all over 3-D Space". So I would guess some meaning where it means "All directional desired and measurable" attribute.

Now go and see how the word isometric has started with this meaning and changed over time - but still keep the essence of the above attribute.

(1) Iso-metric in Engineering Drawing - projection of 3D to 2D space for getting a view of all dimensions and directions.

(2) Iso-metric in Physical Exercise - use of all muscles in "opposition pairs", which is one of the principles used in Yoga Stretches.

(3) Iso-metric in Music - where there is a "sameness of (measured) rhythm in all parts"

(4) Iso-metric in Crystals - Where unit cell is in the shape of a cube - which is 3D and all equal.

(5) Iso-metric Joystick - that would span equally in all 3-D Directions.

(6) Iso-metry in Mathematical Functions - that would preserve distances in all dimensions.

(7) Iso-metric in Thermodynamics - that would preserve a constant volume.

Romania - 11 Century Indian Diaspora All Over The World

Indian continent saw some of the bloodiest times from 780 AD onwards as the Islamic Crusaders reached Multan Punjab. Such cataclysmic moments force people to migrate taking refuge, or taken as slaves.

Please read this article on Romania and my posting Romania-And-Armenia. Now ask what the name "Rham" means? Among western speakers, their is tendency for them to speak the Sanskrit letters as aspirated. Like my children in the beginning would speak "K" as "Kh", "C" as "Ch", and so on. So this becomes "Ram". Now go and see how many "Rham" names in Google.

These are the fingerprints of the unrecorded Indian migration that has gone on for ages, as India is one of the most ancient civilizations, having sea faring trades with the rest of the world, accompanied with cultural and business settlements, migrating people because of new opportunities in lesser densely populated and discovered regions, or being driven out by force or circumstances because of some conflicts.

Trap, Isotropy, Anisotropy, Isotropic, Anisotropic, Trip

Sanskrit roots:

(1) Trip or TRp - to satisfy, to please, to satiate, to radiate or emanate pleasure.

Here "R" is cerebral vowel "R" of Sanskrit.

Tarpit - Satisfied

Tripatii or TRpatI- Name of a girl - Meaning one who is satisfying or satisfied. "I" comes from the feminine form and has "I" as double "i" vowel of Sanskrit. "t" can come from Present Active Participle or it comes also from Passive Active Participle.

Interestingly another related word:

Tri-Pati - Three Lords - As an adjective for a woman, it means on who satisfies 3 Husbands or 3 Lords, like Draupati of Pandavas in Mahabharat was also called Panch-pati. This has the active principle. Or the one who is satisfied, the Husband or Lord, which has the passive principle. Note that it has common-ness in the rules with the previous word,

Tarpan (in Hindi the meaning has become opposite - which is often seen by and oen of my blogs shows examples) but it would mean pleasing, which is an Active Participle. Tarpan, Tarpant, and Tarpat are weak, middle and strong grade forms of the Active Present Participles. TRp next grade is Tarp.

Trap -It means perplexing, bashfulness, unchaste, shame in Sanskrit.

(2) Isa or ISa - to desire, to wish, etc. Here "S" is Cerebral "s" and a dental "s" can become cerebral "S" if previous vowel sounds are anything but "a" or "aa" sounds. It also means God which is omni-present in all direction in space.

So English words:

Trap - Now think what does the English "Trap" means. Do you see a connection with Sanskrit "Trap"? When you are trapped you are perplexed. When you are unchaste, others trap you as pariah.

Iso-trop-y or Iso-trop-ic - Which means which is not dependent on a particular direction and is the same or homogenous in all directions. Now "y" in Sanskrit is a semi vowel and sometimes used as a suffix for Adjective/Adverb, and "ic" is Sanskrit Adjective suffix - like in English. "Isah" can become "Iso" (Visarga "h" or hard "h" followed by a soft consonant or vowel, but t is a hard constant and "R" is a vowel, and by its own might "Tra" can be considered a soft sound - which is what Hindi takes it to be as an alphabet by itself). So it becomes "Desired or God (Omni Direction/Omni Present) - Satisfying/Radiating/Pleasing". So you see a connection?

An-iso-trop-y or An-iso-trop-ic - Which is opposite of the previous word - which is that which or whose property is dependent on a direction. In Sanskrit "An" prefix is used as an opposite for a word that beginning with a vowel (same like the English particle rule).

Trip - Some people say with the meaning that it was pleasant or joyful, and some people say it as a jouney - which one hopes would be pleasing and joyful. No one desires an unsatisfying journey.

Western Names and Indian Origins

Often words get twisted over a preiod of time and with the movement of people, specially when amalgamation happens with people of other cultures and words take their own journey across generations.

So some of the western names have always intrigued me. And whenever I see the names, I immediately realize the names to be nothing but a corruption of some ancient Indian name.
For a probability of name and meaning being the same, one just has to follow well known rules of Sanskrit and English sounds, and see if there is a connection in the meaning. which often loose there siginificance in the western context but have a deeper significance in the Sanskrit context.
Please see my article on the probability of "syllables being joined together" vs one thinking that any word can be made into another word from Sanskrit by "n" iterations of letter replacements, which is not the case here as we would follow well known substitute sounds and patterns observed and rules.

So here are some of the names:

Camilla, Camila, Kamala - C has many English pronounciations, including "K"

Monica, Monika, Manika - Some times in Engish "a' is pronounced as "a" and sometimes as "e" as "ai", and sometimes as "o" as "au". "c" and "k" in one context are samiliar.

Ramsey, Ramsay, and Rama-isis or Ram-esis or Ram-esys.

Neil, Neel, Suneel, and Su-nil

Leila and Leela

Anita and Aneeta

Sam and Shayam

Tanya and Tanaya

Trisha and Trish

Apocalypsis - Does it mean the same in Sanskrit?

Apocalypsis - The bibilical use of the word to describe the Great Flood, famously called Noah's flood, which has been recorded all over the world by different civilizations. It is also used to connote the end of world event or even the judgement day.

Modern History is now finding submerged cities with the aid of modern imaging and scaning technology, with satellites. Sites have been found near South India, near Mahabalipuram in South India, near Alexenderia, near North West of Israel, in Atlantis, near UK and near Japan.

Even since I taught myself Sanskrit Grammer (with no compromises as an effort to give therapy to my son as stimulation for memory and logic to heal him from 1/3 brain loss from 3 places 11 years back and also to dig out ancient knowledge from ancient books of India), I see the words differently than what I was before it.

The words I see are based on sound syllables and then I try to break into known Sanskrit roots, and create well known sounds following rules, and see if the meaning arrives comes close to the word.

So back to our game of Sanskritizing the word and seeing if the meaning is the same.

Apah-kaal-i-apah or Apah-kaal-i-apas or Apo-Kaal-i-Apas.

As silent "h" or visarga can become one of sibilant sounds "s" and also "o" besides enclitic.

Their is a prefix called "Apa" in sanskrit used in modifying verbs (which are derived from nouns and can also in turn become new nouns and the series can go on for ever) as well as to make adverbs as well as pronoun. To make an adverb, a visarga can be added. So we get Apah.

Kaal means time and also the indicates the great end or death. We all know that time is the biggest killer.

Now Apas means water. See my previous posting Greek English Apsis And Sanskrit Apas on the word.

So the "Sanskritized" word means - Under Death/Time Water - which is what the word really means - the great flood which submerges the world. The compound in Sanskrit has many contexts and basically one has to fill blanks to expand the words into a context. And there are all kinds of compounds, that often grammarians from west get confounded by the sheer enormity of variations and they tend to only talk about the main ones. So it could mean "Water that Brings the World Under".

"i-a" can become "y", where "i" is used sometimes to connect a consant. The last "is" could have comes from "ih" which is basically a singular noun, or if used as "iih", it could be a plural noun.
